Built on lasting relationships and hard work Kentucky Rose at its core is a simple cheese with complex flavors; the cheese is named after the one-of-a-kind cheese maker, Mary Rose Mattingly. A gently pressed wheel with the addition of cream helps create a buttery and airy paste which is emphasized with a "kiss" of roquefort cultures bringing a floral and earthy note to the rind. The cheese exhibits a pleasantly briny finish and pairs great with Bourbon and raw oysters!
