The toasted perilla seeds give this oil a fuller flavor than that of its raw counterpart. We love the roasted honey aroma and the faint finishing hint of spice, which lingers on top of the nutty flavor.
We have found that the lightly-roasted perilla oil complements seafood and have since used it to make salsa verde to serve with grilled fish, drizzled it on top of seafood based soup, and mixed it into pesto.
